A Long History of Dedication
1937 - Ernie Nolkemper sets up shop in the huge National Stock Yards located across
from St. Louis, Missouri. Ernie insures trucks and livestock moving in and out of
the Yards.
1947 - Bert Watkins, a wounded WWII vet, gets a job with Ernie,
beginning a legacy.
1975 - Office Manager, Mary Popp, begins her long service with the agency.
1977 - Bert's son, Brad, joins the agency. Brad talks to truckers who come into the Yards. He learns what's important to trucking company owners and
professional drivers. Brad quickly expands the business to insure commercial
trucking operations throughout Illinois, Missouri and Indiana.
1986 - Brad's business is destroyed in the National Stock Yards Fire. With
great tenacity, the staff sets up shop in the basement of an old building and continue
their service the very next day.
1995 - Business relocates to Freeburg, Illinois, a great town just outside of St.
Louis, MO.
TODAY - Ernie Nolkemper and Bert Watkins' names remain with this agency as a tribute
to their warm, friendly manner and a legacy of customer service. Bert and Ernie
knew they should understand your business and serve your needs...Brad
continues this tradition.
